moving softshells

Hi,

I've got to haul my herps from Vancouver to Saskatoon, and most likely it's going to be by car (well, truck...). I have no problems with how I'm going to pack up the snakes, lizards, and emydids, but I'm unsure as to the best way to pack up softshells for a two-day-journey. They're quite large, my spiny is just over a foot in shell length, and my florida is a foot and a half or so. They're both quite aggressive, neurotic and musky, so I'd like to be able to change whatever they're in, since I'm sure they'll foul it somehow. My current plan involves tupperwares with lockable lids, since they are quite strong, but here's my question: what should I pack in there with them? I'm considering either a couple of inches of water, to help reassure them and make sure they stay hydrated, or else someone has suggested soft, damp towels. Does this sound okay? Any other suggestions? I'm mostly concerned with their hydration and preventing them from scratching themselves up over the trip.

Thanks!

Alex
