Tail about to come

To give some background: my around 3 year old cornsnake has stuck shed on the last couple of centimeters on the end of the tail. I’ve only noticed a while ago, a bit after I got home from a 2 1/2 month absence of being from my hometown. After discovering, I’ve tried having tupperware container with a moistened towel from warm water with a partial lid to keep humidity to help with the shed. After a few tries it still didn’t work. I don’t know how long the shed has been on but it must of been a while to of not come off. At this point, the shed is a bit darker in color and looks to be squeezing the end of the tail. I’m a bit terrified of the thought of having some of my snake’s tail come off and not sure what to do next or if it does come off. Advice on what to do from here would be amazing.
