Exclamation Unsticking my boa's bottom lip???

Long story short, my Kenyan San Boa's bottom lip (center/chin) has been stuck on her bottom teeth for a quite some time. Everything I've found on this says that the snake will eventually fix this on its own, especially during feeding, but it's not happening and may even be causing her pain. The vet confirmed that her lip is hooked on her teeth but that unhooking it will be a bit tricky, so I guess my question is -

How can/should I get my snake's bottom lip unhooked from her teeth??

We have a lot of very small surgical instruments and many hemostats at my house because my dad's a surgeon, and he has suggested we attempt to unstick her lip at home. My only concern there is that the vet had said if we had them do it, they would sedate her first. My dad used to work with wild snakes for research and says it's fairly easy to restrain a snake with a special tube and he thinks that could work. The vet would be the expensive option for what could possibly be a very simple procedure, so does anybody know anything about this? Is this simple enough to safely do at home? Any tips???
