Agkistrodon contortrix

Went camping (Brown County State Park) over the weekend and decided to walk my dogs through the campground after dark. It was somewhat bright out for it being the middle of the night so I didn't bring a flashlight. After walking around the entire campground and turning around, we were approaching our site and I heard a swoosh by my leg. Looked down and saw what I thought was a snake so I got excited and turned my phone light on and saw this beauty! Assuming my dogs walked right over him. I am also assuming the swoosh I heard was his/her body moving on the ground, maybe in a strike or maybe to just get away from me. Either way, my dogs and I got lucky. I am just happy I was able to find this guy because he/she is a real beauty! It was a pretty large. The largest copperhead I have seen in the wild for sure. The yellow is a speed bump for a size comparison.
