Upgrading my Taras cage to an AP T8 or T10!

Hi all,

About ready to purchase a AP T8 or T10. My debate is which one. I like the idea of the added head space to clean but is the 3" really worth the extra buck?

I have a 23"x11" Ultratherm UTH that I plan on using alongside a 65W Proheat RHP to help maintain the ambients. I have heard mixed things on Ultratherms with the AP tanks...I will be using a thin layer of aspen (what I am using now) and it works fine. Should I be concerned with under belly heat with the Ultratherm?

I know where I am going to put the RHP probe at but I have heard mixed things on where to put UTH probe. AP makes a recessed area underneath the cage to stick probe and recommends this and others recommend mount them directly to the cage floor with hot glue/epoxy. What would you all recommend?

I am installing 2 ft of my own RGBW LEDs that are fully dimmable and 6200k white. A few Reptile Basics hides with epoxied slate on top will help fill the floor space. I have found that this plus this and this alongside an IR temp gun do an excellent job at monitoring temps and humidity. A homemade humid hide, large water bowl and a few pieces of wood will also help fill the floor space.

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!
