I'm with eyespy, my value and priority lies in the animals that NEED me. Don't get me wrong, I fantasize about the beauties I would love to own, but my investments are more like real estate and stock.
I think the bond I create with sick/malnourished/abused/neglected animals I have rescued who bounce back and become excellent pets is worth more than money can buy. No offense to all those who DO have the money to buy that killer super het for somewhatchamacallit with a 42% chance of albino, but to me it is the care and help that I can give them that makes it worthwhile. There is no feeling like the swelling of your heart after seeing a beardie with a severe case of MBD (near death) start strengthening up, head-bobbing, eating like a horse and tearing around the room like hell on wheels!!!
