Wow - I didn't know BCI's could feed like this
So today is feeding day and I went up earlier to find that Rachel had decided to become a tree (well wire) boa. Not seen her chilling here before but she looked pretty comfy!
An hour and a half or so later and went up with her usual meal - ft small mouse - and was going to entice her down to feed but she just took it whilst still hanging on to the wire!
After she had finished 'killing' it she uncoiled and dangled down about half her body length then pulled herself up and proceeded to support the weight of the mouse on one of her body coils that was round the wire whilst she swallowed it.
Watching her then reposition her body to get it all the way down whilst staying on the wire was incredible.
Wish I had got a few more photos of a video but once she's struck the mouse I like to get out and leave her to it as quickly as possible and had stayed far longer than I usually do just watching her.
Apologies for the sideways second photo!..
