Little Loki, i wish he would stop having issues for once. .. When i got him he turned out to have mites, then he had a (rubbing) eye injury that needed salving to heal, which caused him to go off food for a long time (Very sensitive and shy snake). It healed and i have had him eating properly for a couple of months now... He had a random bad shed, i could not find the eyecaps (1000pieces) and i suspected they did not come off even thought it was hard to see. The conditions were identical to what they have been for months, but i gave him a him a moist moss hide for his next shed anyway. He did shed a lot better but still in pieces, found the eyecaps this time. However i still think the old ones are on there.. His eyes do not seem dry, his vision does not seem impaired, but there is a clearly visible white rim alongside the edge of both his eyes, mostly visible with flash photography. Contemplating what to do with this, rather not have him go off food again he is already smaller than he should be and the mandatory move might have caused some stress already. Measured him today at 3 foot and 11 inches, which is pretty small for a year old Burmese python... At least he hás been growing now, which is a big improvement from before.
Such a cute little guy, but really a problem child..
