Is this a good idea?

Hey all

So true to BPs Mushu refused a meal. First time was 2 weeks ago, he ate last week and then refused again this week. He has been fed weekly (give or take a day or two) since I bought him in Dec expect for skipped weeks due to being in shed so I just left him alone until I saw skin. His cage has remained the same, and the room as remain unchanged. He looks at the rat, stalks, coils like he is going to strike but doesn't. Seems like he is just curious what it is. I have a new addition I'm picking up Saturday but don't want to spoil it just yet. I'm considering downsizing his prey for the winter to what my new addition will eat. I don't know at this moment what size prey the new snake is eating, Mushu is on small rats. Should I downsize prey to the other snakes size, possibly weans to avoid waste or extend Mushus feeding schedule? Is 10 days enough or go to 14? He is about a year old and last weigh 1178g though he might have had to poop so it could be slightly off and 3ft long. He was such a good boy up until now so just need some advice how to proceed forward.
