Unhappy Gator Crossed the Rainbow Bridge

I lost a gecko for the first time ever just the other day. It wasn't sudden. I have been expecting it for a while, even considered euthanasia since nothing was wrong with him according to the vet, he just...wasn't right. After a 4 year long battle of inconsistent eating, terrrible sheds, temper tantrums, and many scared of 'will today be the day?' He is finally resting without worry.

My delema is this...I can't just throw him in the trash and I'm a bit afraid to burry him because I'd be upset if something dug him up and ran off with him. So, for now, he's 'chilling' in my freezer.

What are some methods you use to deal with your pet once the end of their journy comes?

(Please note, he was a rescue and came to me sickly. By best estimation he was somewhere around 15 years old)
