Easily handled and will just wrap around my hand or slowly climb around. They do not try to get away from me and seem to enjoy being taken out of their cages for some interaction. I would definitely recommend them as a viable choice for a pet snake. Although 5' sounds large, when you actually see a 5' snake coiled, they are not very large at all.
