Well, I went to go sift through the substrate and found the snake right off the bat! So I held him while my husband looked. Either he hasn't shed yet (and is in the clear-eyed stage right beforehand) or my husband sucks at finding baby snake skins.
I figured I'd offer a mouse anyway, in case we missed it or something. He was much different for handling this time around--didn't musk, didn't try to run away so much, and got exploratory after chilling in my hand for a minute or two. Hilariously, although he'd REACH towards my husband, seemingly curious, he'd actually swerve away and back to my hand if we offered him my husband's hand to climb onto.
For a snake that the store employees were AFRAID of, I find him utterly charming. Not living up to his ferocious reputation at all!
