Re: Photo shoot for Simon - BRB

I have only a bit of experience with them so far, we've owned Zoë, our first, since last year. She was a bit under 3 months when we got her. She was very calm but did go through a brief bitey period a few months ago. That seems to be over now though.
from what I've read that seems to be typical of young ones, a bitey period followed by calmness, if they are handled consistently.

Then Kaylee, the female adult we got a few months ago bit my husband the first time he handled her.
But she did have retained eye caps at the time and I have a suspicion that the guy we got them from had not been feeding them very much, since he had been trying to get rid of them for several months, they didn't seem to be starved or in bad condition or anything. But her bite did seem to be more of a feeding bite than aggression.
We've been careful with her since and she hasn't done anything threatening. That first bite was actually worse for the fact that she is now the biggest, power-fullest snake we have and we had not had any experience dealing with a snake that strong before, so that was a surprise!
