Best type of bulb?

Hey I was wondering what the best type of bulb is to use to heat a tree frog enclosure? I have an infrared heat bulb right now but it really doesn't seem to warm the tank very much, even the area of the tank right below the bulb only increase by 3-5 degrees F. I had heard that plain halogen bulb do a good job of heating, but I am trying to be careful as to not dry out the live plants in the tank.

Thanks for any advice

Matt

PS. The frogs won't be in for at least another week so I have some time to test things out.
