A Quick Scare

I got home this evening and went to check on my babies, Kaybe and Pika. I opened Pika's enclosure and bam... HE'S MISSING. I freaked out. Freaked out is an understatement actually. I bawled my eyes out. I tore my living room to shreds. I knew he made it to the ground (the enclosure is about 2ft off the floor) because I found his poop on the floor. I cried desperately. I called my boyfriend Phil who left work early to come help me look. While Phil was on his way over to me, I called Kim (Will0W) and she said she'd help me so I headed over to pick her up from where she was. By the time I picked her up, Phil had made it to my place, and sent me a text message saying he found Pika just hanging out in the open by my bed (about 3 rooms away) under my nightstand in plain view. I was MORTIFIED at the idea of losing one of my babies. I cried as if someone had died (no joke. I take my animals pretty seriously.) When I called Kim to tell her Pika was gone, I was crying so hard she thought I meant he was gone as in dead. I had to clarify that he was missing, lol. But the good news is that both Kaybe and Pika are now at Kim's place since she takes care of them for the winter while I go home to Florida for Christmas/New Years, and they'll be happy and safe there. Pika was out for max 22hrs (supposing he got out immediately after I left my apartment the night before). But it was one hell of a scare. Phew! I'm glad that's over. Minor heart attack over. Now, off to bed to get a good night's rest. Night night
