question about breeding colubrids
My husband and I are interested in breeding in 2-3 years, corns and milks mostly. We absolutely love colubrids, they are our favorite type of snake by far. Their colors and personality make them so intriguing.
I know that corns can be bred with rat snakes, and I know that milks can be bred with king snakes. However, can rat snakes and milk snakes breed? I am thinking no, and maybe it is a silly question, but I was just curious.
EDIT- we are by no means going to attempt to cross breed species as I know it is dangerous. Again, I was just curious. I know kingsnakes and milksnakes can be cannabalistic and I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if one of my corns got eaten.
Our plans are to first attempt breeding with just corns. I want to breed okeetee's and albino. If we are succesful in that then we were thinking of attempting to breed mexican or pueblan milks. Again, this is a long process and just a thought right now. We are increasing our collection and space for snakes currently building shelves in our garage to make a herp room.
