getting to know alllll about youuuuu....
LOL!
I would love to know more about everyone! I know the primary purpose of this place is ofcourse to discuss the hobby, but I'd love to know who I am talking to better.
I'll start!
I am Artemis, a 28 year old woman, dreading getting older. I live in Northern Virginia, which basically sucks. I do live west of all the hubub and am more of a country girl at heart (though please do not confuse this for "redneck" which I am not)
I am married to a wonderful man who is supportive of my love of animals, though he doesnt share it, sadly. I still have yet to get him to hold one of the snakes, he is so afraid of getting tagged, it's hilarious. I have 2 kids, 9 year old girl and 2 year old son, and they are also enamored of my snakes. I love teaching them and watching them learn. I love animals in general, and in addition to my 2 ball pythons, have 4 cats, and a nano reef tank. I have kept all kinds of animals over the course of my life, and it is a big passion of mine.
I went to Virginia Tech, (GO HOKIES!), though left before any of the recent drama I am sure you all have seen in the media. Very sad. It's a scarier world every day.
I am a 90's child and love alternative music, but I think I am a reincarnated hippie and I love music from pretty much the late 40's on. My Ipod is an eclectic mix, to be sure.
I have a very sardonic sense of humor, and I love stupid adult cartoons, from Family guy and robot chicken, to dramatic movies and tv shows, like law and order or intervention.
My fascination with snakes started in a most ironic way. I was bitten by a copperhead when I was 8. It was a juvenile and I think the cat had been messing with it in the yard.. I had gone out barefoot to play, and whammo. It pumped every drop of venom it had into me. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks. Snake bites were so rare, especially on the east coast, I had doctors fly in from all over the country to check me out. I was not given any antivenin as the bite was on my foot and I was so young... I came out of it fine, but I can tell when it's going to rain in my foot to this day, and I can congratulate a copperhead on my first trip. CRAZY hallucinations I had. In addition to vomiting, necrotic vein death, and not being able to walk for a couple months without crutches. Since then, I have learned a lot about snakes and conquered any underlying fears. I love my BP's and croon at them like they understand me....
I know people on here are mostly canadian, eh, but I dont mind... we us people have to get our dose of canuck somewhere.
Someday I'll hit Vansterdam for a mini vacay... as soon as its in the budget, which might be never
So now its YOUR turn, tell me about YOUUUUUU!
