New Uroplatus

Hey everyone, today I received a shipment of Uroplatus from Neil Meister, and I must say, I'm very impressed. The geckos are a lot nicer in person then pictures can show. I will post better pictures of them soon in their set ups when they are all settled in but these ones were taken quickly when I was putting them in their new homes. Enjoy.

Here is a mossy leaf tailed gecko (Uroplatus Sikorae Sikorae) that I'm hoping is male. Both have regenerating tails as they encountered a mean hatchling when they were growing up.

Here is another Mossy that I'm hoping is a female. I've been told by Neil that males tend to have more of a line pattern where as females are more blotchy.

Here is a female lined leaf tail (Uroplatus Lineatus) that has to grow up so I can pair her with my male I had from before the shipment. Males have a chopped up white line down the middle of there back where females have two white lines one on either side of the body that tend to be cleaner then a males' line.

Here is the male.

Here is my tailless Satanic leaf tail (Uroplatus Phantasticus) I recieved who is very dark in coloration and hoping it to be female, time will tell. Neil said there is a good chance it is and he knows best so I'll go with his words. Sorry about the bad pic I didn't wanna stress it out to get a good one.

Here is my male phantasticus. He's hard to see because of his camo but he has a very neat tail with little notches is the edge of his tail to look like leaf decay. He's a bit bigger then the previous.

Here is my female Uropatus Phantasticus that is the largest.

I hope to breed all three of these species one day. Right now my only concern is heat. My apartment is right above the boiler room so it can get warm, I need to buy an evaporative cooler for my room. Uroplatus don't require any heat sources and fair well at or below room temperatures. They say that heat is free in the lease but I found out it's beacuse we've only used it when it's minus 30 out, pretty lame. Anyways, hope you like the pictures and it makes you want to get some of your own, a beautiful genus Uroplatus is.

Take care,
Mike
