(From an instinctive/scientific perspective, as in a female feels insecure about a nesting/egg laying site and therefore becomes eggbound) At first glance, it would seem really easy, but I'm finding it's really not And I can't find it on any dictionary site. "Retaining eggs" works, but I'm looking for the evolutionary reason why an animal would retain eggs if it means death.
