Day geckos

Anyone here keep them here? I'm trying to get my parents to let me have one. The standing or the giant madagascan day gecko is what I'm asking about. My mom isn't thrilled about lizards that can climb walls and that's the problem. But my dad can make a lockable cage. I also know some place that has way too many of both species. . Any help would be appreciated. Can you guys please give me some good care sheets.
