Need Big Help Please

I was told about this site by a friend.
I need some help here.
A friend of mine has passed on and left me an Emerald Boa.
He was a huge snake fan, and this was his pet.
I know nothing about taking care of it.
Can someone give me any tips.
I dont need web addresses because I have looked at a ton of material online and get the gist, but I need personal hints and tips about what to do with it.
It came in a big plexiglass 'tank' that was in his living room.
He feeds it rats.
It NEVER moves.(just sits on a branch), unless I take it out.
