humidity idea- good or bad?

Hi all-

Been working on a way to raise the humidity in my BP enclosure, which currently is a 10 tank with a mesh top, and a piece of glass over that which helps hold in some humidity in now. There is about an inch of space along the length of the back side of the enclosure that is only the mesh top, and not covered up by the glass. The humidity now is 50-55, but id like to try to get it up to 60-65. I was thinking about sewing some sponges into the screen, almost like lining the inside of the screen with a layer of sponge. Not only would they not be visible because of the tanks black edging, but they would also keep the snake from hurting himself on the rough screen. Then I could mist the sponges periodically, not enough to where they would drip, but to where they would be holding some water. Then after replacing the glass top, that should help bring in some humidity without having to worry about blister disease or having too much moisture on the ventral side.

Is this a good idea or is there something i havent thought through yet that would be bad?

New BP is still settling in. Will post pics soon.
