Just an introduction

Hello everybody, my name is Jeff McFadden. I have been on ssnakess for a while checking things out. I am new to posting but I will do it more often in the future. I am 26 ('77 year of the snake) and live west of Edmonton AB with my wife, dogs and many reptiles. I have been keeping reptiles since I was 14. I have been obsessed with reptiles since I was a little kid. My wife was very fond of frogs as a kid and has developed a great facination and appreciation for all herps. We are members of TARAS and ERAS and have been involved with Alberta reptile shows for a few years now. I started out with a Cornsnake and now our reptile collection numbers about 100. I have successfully bred Cornsnakes, Colombian Boas, Blood Pythons, Crested Geckos and Leopard Geckos. In addition to those, this year I will be pairing up my Coastal Carpet Pythons, Sinaloan Milksnakes and multiple morphs of Leopard Geckos. We have more future breeders but most of them are too young to breed. I do this because I love it. I know that I currently spend more on my animals ( and getting more) than I make from breeding, however I could never imagine my life without reptiles. I believe one of the best things that we can all be willing to do is trade. It is a great way for everybody to expand their collection without spending a fortune. Currently we have Colombian Boas, Dumeril's Boas, Viper Boas, 0.1 Suriname Boa, 0.1 Hogg Island Boa (Sears), 0.1 Brazilian Rainbow Boa, Coastal Carpet Pythons, Borneo Short-tailed Pythons, Blood Pythons, 0.1 Reduced Pattern Ball Python, Cornsnakes, 1.0 Gray Banded Kingsnake, Sinaloan Milksnakes, Eastern Kingsnakes, 1.0 50/50 California Kingsnake, 0.1 Spur Thighed Tortoise, 1.0 Leopard Tortoise, Argentine Giant Tegus, 0.1 Tokay Gecko, 1.0 Helmeted Gecko and a constantly growing group of Leopard Geckos. Like most people on here I am not even close to having enough reptiles. I really believe that herpetoculture is extremly important for the survival of many reptiles. I just like to see people being responsible with their animals. I worked at a local Vet clinic for 3 years. I learned a lot about the health of many animals while I worked there. Anything that anybody can use to learn about animals in general, I think is great. Ssnakess is a great example of that. Sorry that I have babbled on and on, I guess it is to make up for the lack of posts in the past. I just wanted to say Hello and introduce myself. If anybody would like to contact me for whatever my email is gaboon@telusplanet.net Thanks, Jeff and Nicole McFadden.
