Confused with different Albinos...
recently, in another thread, I learned that the "Whitesmoke Albino Ball Python" is a co-dominant or dominant trait (I'm not sure if it is known for certain which one it is at this point, but it is not recessive from what I was told). This got me going a bit on different albinos... I noticed that there are:
1) albino ball pythons
2) high-contrast albino ball pythons
3) faded albino ball pythons
4) whitesmoke albino ball python
What I want to know, is what is the difference between the 3 first mentioned types? I thought they were always the same trait, but depended only on selective breeding (i.e. how much yellow was bred in with the albino trait).
This would be nice for me to know because I've purchased a pair of adult het-albinos, but I can't be sure what type of albino. My male is fair colored (but I wouldn't consider it a high-yellow animal personally) and my female almost looks like a green-ghost or axanthic... almost no yellow (which is probably not that great for breeding nice albinos I would think). One was apparently from Bob Clark and the other apparently from Professional Breeders. That's all I know. What kind of offspring should I expect?
Thank you for any input on this subject.
Bristen.
