Law S373

Did this law ever pass? What snakes are banned to pass borders still? I cannot find much on the internet. I would love to get a Boa but I do not know whether or not I should since I might move far away one day, and if I did, I would not be able to take it with me. Sorry if this is a very common question, I do not know.
Thanks for the help,
Mitch

I believe it only restricts retics and burns and only for anyone who did not donate to USARK before a certain date. Boas are still fine.

Also, I totally ready your signature in the voice of a certain cartoon cowboy! Thanks for the giggle that caused!

Really? People who donated to USARK do not have a restriction on retics and burms? Haha, yea. Love that signature.

Re: Law S373

That's my understanding, but others will chime in later with more accurate information. =)

That part seems fake.

Hopefully someone will speak up about the proper law.

Yes it did. In addition to Burmese Pythons, African Rock Pythons, Indian Pythons, and Yellow Anacondas, Reticulated Pythons, and all species of anacondas were banned from importation into the US and across state borders. Source: Constrictor Rule Finalized | USARK

However, USARK won a preliminary injunction to allow members of USARK before the date of April 8th, 2015 to resume shipping of Reticulated Pythons and Green Anacondas across state lines excluding Florida and Texas until further notice. Source: http://usark.org/2015-blog/7182/

There are currently no restrictions on Boa Constrictors. The only boas affected are Anacondas.

Incorrect. You have to be a member of USARK before April 8th, 2015. Being a donator is not enough. Burmese Pythons, African Rock Pythons, Indian Pythons, and Yellow Anacondas still may not legally cross state borders regardless of USARK membership.

I'm a member!

Re: Law S373

Thanks for the correction! =)

I plan on staying in ky state for a loooong time, so long as I can order from a vreeder who can ship across state boarders, I'm happy.

I also really hope boas are never put on that list. =(
