Moss problems....

I dug up some wild moss and put it in my bioactive enclosure. The problem is that it wont spread like carpet. Any ideas or input?

Re: Moss problems....

I know that some folks who set up planted vivaria for their tarantulas swear by placing a layer of damp sphagnum moss under the live moss. I haven't looked into it any more than that and have never tried it myself, but they said that the moss generally won't do very well placed directly on soil. I'm not sure how much/well it would spread on sphagnum though. You could always give it a try and see what happens.
