My snake won't leave his hide?

While this isn't my first snake, this is the first time I've encountered this problem. My new baby rat snake came in, and while he does come out every now and again, he isn't out when I'm around and It's about time for his first handling. While I can just move the hide, the problem is that theres a nook where he fits in at the top and I can't reach him.
Is there any way I can coax him out?
Any opinions or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Id just get a new hide.

I agree with Dude, replace the hide if you don't want to wait until he comes out on his own. How long have you had him? They tend to come out more often after they've had 2-3 meals and a few weeks to acclimate to their new environment. Best wishes.
