Newspaper for quarantine?

I'm going to be getting my new snake hopefully in the next couple days, and I want to put him in quarantine. I just realized today that I don't have any newspaper any more. I know I can get tons of it from the the garbage yard/ swap shop down the road from me, but I can't imagine that being very sanitary. Anybody have any ideas? Also I'm wanting to make a humid hide for Scarlet Rose and would appreciate any suggestions on how to go about it.

Substrate: use paper towel

Humid hide: use a margarine container. Damp moss or paper towels inside. Cut a hole in the lid or side. Just be sure to change the paper towel every few days.

PRO TIP: Always have a hide with a removable lid, bottom or side. This way you always have access to the snake and it will never be "stuck".

Another option for the substrate is to buy a box of unprinted newspaper from Uhaul. Box of 200 sheets for 9.95. The humid hide can be a empty cereal box with a handful of cypress mulch tossed inside. Depending on the size of the animal, go up or down in the box size. Cardboard bio degrades rather quickly and needs to be thrown out and replaced.

The paper towels aren't in danger of becoming flammable with the heat mat on the bottom right? I'm probably being unnecessarily paranoid, but figure I might as well go ahead and ask.

Negative T! Make sure to set your heat mat up to a thermostat though! Thermostat is the most important piece of husbandry equipment.
