Ball Python shedding problems?

My Ball Python has had it's first shed since I've aqcuired him. It went wrong. It came off in pieces, and he is currently only partially shed.

I read a piece of advice on another forum that I should stick him in a tub (container) with damp paper towels for an hour to let him get real moist and then help him by hand. (I realize I shouldn't pull it off or rip and tear) to the best of my ability to tell (Read: complete amateur) it seems his eyes have shed okay. But a little advice on how to tell for sure without actually touching his eyes would be nice.

But those people were referencing a corn snake, so I'm not sure if the procedure should be different or not.

His cage is sitting at 82 Ambient with 64% humidity. It generally sits at around 55% humidity, but when I seen he was in "Shed" mode about a week ago I began misting plus moved the end of his water dish over the under-tank heater. He does have a heat lamp, but it is necessary to keep his tall cage at the right temperature (What do I say, the cage was 120$ off, who could resist?)

I can resist. $120 compared to the potential money in vet bills if your animal had a bigger complication than an issue shedding.

Anyway, your humidity is too low. You can use the same method as the cornsnake suggestion. Personally I'd just dump a full water bowl into the enclosure and let the snake just do it on it's own.
You can find the head piece of the shed and it will have the eye caps if the eyes did shed.

Lastly, to fix the issue, when you notice the shed cycle and the blue eyes poor a full water dish into the enclosure and then put a full bowl in as well. Should help.

If you don't feel comfortable dumping a bowl full of water in, you can provide a humid hide using damp moss. I like to make them with a Tupperware/rubbermaid and cut a hole in the side, that way the moss doesn't get the rest of the substrate too wet or get all over the enclosure.
