I think they just roll it up as it comes off, all my Boas do the same thing!

Re: How do boas shed like this.

Ya know that's a great question. One of my boas did that every single time...

Re: How do boas shed like this.

I believe it happens when they start the shed and find a place that holds the shed in place and they simply crawl out of their old skin, sort of like when you roll a sock off of your foot.

That's what I was thinking, but you clearly explained it better than I could XP

Re: How do boas shed like this.

My BP sheds like this every single time. I actually took the time and care to unroll a few. One of them was still fully (sans a couple tears) in tact, eye caps and everything.

One time I was able to watch him shed and he did it all in his hide and just circled around and around. Fascinating stuff.

^Awesome video btw.

Re: How do boas shed like this.

I once had a (non-rainbow) snake in my care shed...and, as he was finishing, he saw the open end of his shed and crawled right back into the old skin for a second round. I had to help him "escape."

Cool animal...but not the brightest bulb in the reptile enclosure. ;-)

If you see this stuff just hit the report post button. It lets us know right away instead of when we might see it making our usual rounds.
