Unhappy retic regurgitating water? please help!

I previously had this thread for her! http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/giant...-my-retic.html

I fed her 5/28 around 11pm and she had pooped in her enclosure so i used the hook to slightly pick her up(avoiding the lump from the rat) and move her body so i could clean the area, when i did this she began spitting up a watery, smelly substance, there were no solid pieces though. And the liquid was extremely clear. It came up in sections so not all at once... she soaked in the water dish the first 3 days... her bedding is forest floor. Her daytime hot spot is 93F provided by a ceramic heat emitter, night time its at 87F. Her cool side is 76F, 72F at night.

I have a plastic water dish large enough for her to soak in, a week before i got her i used a 1 to 10 ratio of bleach and water and cleaned the tub, rinsing it several times then letting it dry out for 6 days before i got her.

When she did eat the jumbo rat she dragged it into the water dish and held it under water for about 10 mins before eating it then she began to eat it underwater...

Im wondering if maybe she drank too much before i tried hooking her up? Or maybe inhaled water while eating the rat and its coming from her lungs? Any advice is much appreciated!

Leave her alone for a week (and I mean completely, only fill her water dish if needed) before feeding again. Always wait a few days after feeding before doing anything in the enclosure, even cleaning poop.

How long was she out for?

She wasnt out at all i just lifted her body and moved it to a different spot in her cage to get her but it only took me a few mins to move her. Why did this happen? Ive had a snake regurgitate before but not throw up water.

The water is weird, but even just moving them around can be enough stress to cause a regurg. I've got one that won't eat if you're even in the same room as her so she's always the last to be fed. I disturbed her once while she had it about halfway in her mouth and she promptly spit it back up. While I can't say 100% what the cause was, I have a feeling it is related to being moved with a full belly.

Re: retic regurgitating water? please help!

I'm thinking she may have swallowed too much water during eating. She should be okay, I hope. Next time remove her water bowl when feeding. That's what I do. Before I switched to f/t, my retic would sometimes constrict the rat while completely underwater in his bowl. He never spit up water, but I don't wanna risk it anymore.

Do NOT handler her until she has begun eating without issues again. If it is stress then the last thing you want to do is stress her out further by handling her.
