snake identification

Found this on a lake in central ar. No one knows what it is. It was alot redder than the picture shows.

I'm a bit torn. I'm leaning towards Eastern Hognose, but part of me wants it to be a Pygmy Rattler. I'm pretty sure it's a Hognose. I think. I can't say with confidence, the image quality is to low. Any chance you could upload the shot to a photo hosting site? This forum compresses photos pretty bad. Out of curiosity, how old is that picture?

I'm with FWK. Looks like an eastern hognose.

Definitely not a rattler, there is no rattle. I can see a pointy tail. Looks like a hog.

About 3 years old. Thats best pic i got but it doesnt really show how bright the red was.

I think you may be right though. Only thing not sure about it being hognose is the neck is skinny not wide
