Animal Rights Activists on Radio

I was flipping through the dial tonight and ran across a random radio show featuring one rabid animal rights activist and one guy who seemed a little more clued in but still definitely a full fledged pet hater. In one segment he goes on to say most bear owners abandon their bears lol I must confess I do not know any bear owners, but this sounded a little extreme to me. They didn't miss a chance to put down fish and reptile owners either though, not to disappoint. Then they played "random" clips of people on the street talking about terrible it is to own an "exotic" animal.

This got me thinking, the animal rights activists feel now is the time to ban ownership of pets. While they are out there swinging public opinion against hunting, farming, and right now especially pet ownership, we still seem to be mostly asleep. I'd love to see the reptile community appearing on radio shows and such. We must have someone in radio on our side out there somewhere to host such a thing. I feel like right now they have a tremendous advantage and we'll be lucky to own a goldfish a few years from now.

I in no way think he was being extreme about the bear statement. People are idiots especially anyone who thinks bears should be kept as pets. Most true animal conservation people know that controlled hunting in necessary for healthy wild game populations. What I can not get behind is hunting to prove how manly you are with no intention of cosuming your kill. There are as many idiots who have no respect for animal right as there are that overkill on this topic.
