Happened to run across someone's website and they showed they would be at this show. So I looked it up. Very impressive list of vendors that will be there. Only down side is not Hot's for sale. Wasn't going to buy one, but I like to look at them.

It's going to be a tough choice, but I'll be adding to my collection at this show in a few weeks. Most likely another King.

It's a decent show. Went twice last year. No hots though. Plenty of Kings!!!

I went last February. Decent show like all of the NARBC ones are. It's always a good time as long as you know people. Buy a VIP pass so you can get in on Friday. That's usually when you can get the best deals since you're not considered part of the general public, plus they feed you.

Do you know if they sell beer? I'll probably need to get liquored up before I come home with a new snake. I using the trip as an excuse to go with my nephew who it looking for a Red Tail Boa.

Haha yeah they do! Bar on Friday in the corner and the banquet on Saturday is a good place to get drunk and party with other reptile people. It really is a big party, especially during the auction. Ton Jones (from Auction Hunters) and the Timberline guys (crickets and other bug feeders) donate a 1.75L bottle of Grey Goose and bid it up to a stupid amount (North of a grand every time I've been). Brian Potter always ends up getting drunk and having to turn over the auctioneer job to someone else and the funds all go to a charity, usually USARK. They sometimes do sumo suit wrestling afterwards for charity as well.

Basically the idea of the banquet/auction is grab some food, find a table, let the liquor flow and make some new friends.

Oh, and bid on whatever trips your trigger. Some animals are usually available for a hell of a price but the odd items are usually the coolest/funniest.

Starts this Saturday. I have a Thayer's or Ruthven's on the want list. Depending on color and pattern. But I'll be coming home with something new one way or the other. Excited.

You can buy a VIP pass and get in on Friday. That's the best way to do it. The vendors are usually willing to give better deals and there's nowhere near as many people there. It's a much more relaxed atmosphere. After Friday the best deals can be had late on Sunday as vendors are starting to pack up. They're either willing to sell animals cheaper so they don't have to bring them home, or they're trying to make a bit more money to help cover their costs for the show. Find out of town vendors too as their costs are typically higher than local people.

My schedule is pretty packed. If I'm able to go tomorrow on a VIP what are the times they are open? I don't see anything on the site about it. Maybe I didn't see it.

I really liked it. It is ball python galore though. But lots of nice selections of other snakes. Lots of Geckos and turtles/tortoises too. It was very busy. I didn't see anything I couldn't live without so I personally didn't get anything. Plus I had a real good feeling my nephew wouldn't be able to keep his GTP that he bought and I would end up with it. Which was the case (see GTP forum).

Yeah, the spring show is typically a lot of BPs. Nothing wrong with that, a lot have just happened to have hatched already (shorter/earlier breeding cycles and duration). The fall show is typically bigger and with more variety as carpets, retics, and many boa and other python species as well as North American colubrids will have bred and hatched by then. This show is usually just last season's hold backs and leftovers as well as the few animals that are already ready to go.
