Can anyone identify this snake?

--Discovered this baby snake (about 5 inches long) outside our house in Southeastern (coastal) North Carolina. Shiny, coppery color. (See attachments)

Looks like a red belly snake. Hard to say exactly as your snake appears to be decomposing.
