Feeding skinned prey animals.

A friend of mine uses fur to make fishing lures, and asked me if he could skin one the rabbits i feed since he was out of moles. He skinned one rabbit, leaving the all the underlaying skin intact so it wasn't bloody, and the insides stayed in place. He also left the head/legs on, only took the back/belly skin off. It's not very bloody or anything, the snake didn't seem to mind. As soon as it found the head it went right down the hatch (it did look a bit creepy

).. I should of taken pictures, didn't think of it. Anyone ever done this before?

Never fed skinned animals, but I doubt the missing skin and fur would make any significant difference in the food value.

I would imagine it would be a benifit because hair isn't easily digested anyway. but how much of a benifit, I wouldn't know.

I did consider losing just the lop layer of skin, would not affect the nutritional value's by much. I am wondering if the feces will be any runnier, because i reckon there will be less fiber present to bind it together? She has not left me any feces yet so i can not confirm this.

I don't think a skinned animal is a big deal in my opinion. There's MUCH worse things you can feed to a snake if you think about it. Imagine feeding something like a decomposing rabbit (even though I think no one is that stupid to do that). You get my point lol.

Yea i get your point, i have heard of snakes in the wild eating animals that already started decomposing. I still would never actually give my snake one.
