She does it because she can, lol. My corn did that right after I put some branches in for climbing (still too small to reach the tank rim w/out something to climb) but dropped back down when I blew on him/her to encourage moving along so I could open the top and change the water bowl. I haven't seen the bugger up there since then, though I don't know what goes on after I'm in bed.
