Question Egg Eating Snake

I am having trouble finding much info on them online, other than basic care. Are they commonly found in captivity? What's the price range on them? Are they hardy, or diffucult to keep? Are those for sale typically CB or WC?
Any info would be appreciated!

Thanks
Zoe

I saw one the other night on a nature show climbing into a nest and eating an egg.

At first I thought NO WAY is this snake going to do this. But sure enough......I couldn't believe how stretched out the neck skin was to get this egg down.

And how genius is it that the shell comes out? It was amazing footage.

Anyways but to answer your question, I have no clue. sorry!!! I just wanted to say I really find them amazing.

I thought about getting one, I saw one for sale for $50 USD a couple years ago. Then I priced getting ahold of quail eggs to feed them (most are not big enough for chicken eggs). Selective feeders are always frustrating.

There are actually 3 ssp of Dalyspeltis...

This is all my opinion, but I would think the bulk are going to be w/c, they aren't that popular in the pet trade. I think there was another thread about egg eating snakes earlier this year...

dasypeltis scabra and inorta are the most commonly seen. they are an easy going snake, and if u can find small enough eggs to feed them they are a very rewarding snake to keep.
cheers
