Plz help with new avatar
i was playing around with some images i found and made myself a new avatar, not quite what i wanted though. it will do for now. i did have it 100x100 but it said it was too big so i had to make it 90x90. ok well anyway, i tried and tried to get that one snake with it's mouth wide open trimmed to just that. i wanted to crop it right at the edges but found it impossible. or i just dont know what im doing. im using macromedia fireworks to do it. can anyone tell me how to get it trimmed just to the edges of the python? i wanted to have a background image and have the python pasted over it, but without it trimmed it kinda looks ugly blocking 50% of the background image. any help will be greatly appreciated.
oh yeah any tips you guys have about the new avatar? do ya like it or hate it? just speak your mind.

LOL alright, I guess I am going to be giving away all of my secrets, but what can you do. There is a few things, get rid of fireworks lol. I recommend using Adobe Photoshop when working with images. In there, I usually magnify the picture 900 x, then go around with the eraser. On easier pictures, with a pretty much solid color backround, different from the color of the snake, I use the magic eraser, works like a charm. While using the magic eraser, go around the edges with the eraser, however dont put the eraser on erase mode, put it on fade. When its on fade. go around the shape of the python with the fade eraser, use the magic eraser, and boom.

I use Photoshop as well, but use a differnt method. I open up the picture I'm going to use - then I take the rectangular select, hold down shift, and select my favorite square of the pice, and crop. Then I just shrink the image size down to 100x100 and save a jpeg works charms.

yeah but that still leaves it in a box, the picture may have a white background but if overlapped with an images that black and green or what ever it will show up as a white box plopped in the middle. i was wondering if it can be trimmed to the absolute edges and be the outside of that images only. well its hard to explain i hope you catch my drift
