Fixing an old cage... questions.

What can I use to put on the inside of an old cage to keep water from damaging the particle board? The cage already has some water damage, so I don't want it to have any more. I thought about some of that liner that is used for inside of cabinets. I found some at Lowe's that seems waterproof, but it doesn't actually say if it is or not.

You would be better off using polyurethane and seal the particle board. You would need to start with a very thin coating to prevent absorption, then add layers. I think Rustoleum is now making a water proof spray that is suppose to be very good.

Re: Fixing an old cage... questions.

I sealed my monitor enclosure with pond paint (not cheap, and take a while to apply and cure), and then put inner walls in, using cheap 4mm polycarbonate twin wall, sealed up with a silicone-type sealant designed for polycarb (HA6, standard aquarium silicone doesnt usually stick to polycarb), did the trick nicely, and is very well insulated aswell

Marine epoxy would seal that up pretty nicely.
