Re: Lacy Act
I do belive that there should be some sort of permit needed to keep these big snakes. The lacey act seems point less at this point. There are still plenty of giants in each state and anybody can still purchase them (at least in most states). The lacey act will mainley affect people who are into morphs I would think? Other then indian pythons and some anacondas, most states have plenty of the more common big snakes to go around.

that would be a landlord decision, not a government one, though...I do know there are a few insurance companies that will not cover someone if they have any of those breeds, either, so the landlords may be facing that issue...but its not outlawed..yet...i know many ppl that do have pitts and they are the most wonderful animals...same with most rotties i have met, with the exception of my neighbor's (theirs attacked my son and ripped his leg to shreds..42 stitches, crutches, and missed half a season of baseball)...but I still don't think they should be outlawed..

Re: Lacy Act
I wish they would just enact a permit system, I've got no problem having someone come round to check to see if I'm housing/caring for my retics properly. I have to ask what happened to the right of "the pursuit of happiness"? And I don't even have giants I've got a dwarf and 2 super dwarves. Its not fair. Sorry for the venting, I've known this was coming just hoped I'd have what I wanted before it happened.
So, anybody know when the law would go into effect if we lose the war?

Re: Lacy Act
Ok so my girlfriend tried to sign the petition, it says thanks for signing shows the number after her signing, but it never registers. It reverts back to 1 less a soon as I navigate away. Anyone else experiencing these problems? Who do I contact about this?

Re: Lacy Act
Isn't this the same thing that's been going on since August or September? Or are they trying to pass the law again? Iirc the laws adding the snake species (all of them: boa constrictors, retic, anacondas) were voted out, and they've just been having extensions for CatEx since then.
