Snakes that eat all year?

I apologize in advance if this is posted in the wrong thread...

But I was wondering if anyone knows of a kind of snake that eats all year round~?
My two snakes take the colder seasons off and although it is no cause for alarm I would appreciate it if they where eating
I'd really like a corn snake but they take the colder seasons off too, don't they?

Thanks for taking the time to read this~!

I'm looking for a snake that can be kept in a adjusted tupperware container. The shelf that I am looking to put this container on is about 32" long and 13" wide, (other than a sandboa) want's a good sized boa for these conditions. :3

Corns will eat all year so long as you do not drop the temp in the winter like most breeders do.

Re: Snakes that eat all year?

That's kind of hard to answer. I have two kings and one eats all year and one takes the winter off usually. Same goes for boas from what I've read.

All my snakes eat all year. If you keep the temps up, they have no reason not to. Snakes hibernate/climate, out of necessity, due to temps in their natural environments.

Just curious why you want them to eat all year. I love the little breaks. I only have two snakes that eat every single time without fail and that is my Gopher snake and my King snake.

I just love feeding time I guess, I know this sounds kinda weird but I guess I'd like a snake that always feeds to get one of the joys of keeping a snake all year round...
My snakes move around a lot during the winter and I love seeing them~!
But I guess it's mostly just asking out of curiosity as well to see if it's not like a urban legend or something

Kingsnakes for the win. The only time they stop eating is when their dead.

Re: Snakes that eat all year?

A little off topic from the Original Question......Tell us about your set-up(?)

Would you consider sharing details (and pictures) about your enclosures, how you control heat, how you control RH, do you monitor RH% in the room you keep them in, etc, etc...?

I'm probably not too far from you and know that with the current cold we are having my house is now between 35%-39%. (furnace coming on, etc). Dry as F**k. So I keep my snake room at 45%-48%, and spray each enclosure to ensure everyone is happy.

I'm wondering if, perhaps, your RH% has dropped drastically in your snake room / entire house and as a result you the RH% in your enclosures goes up and down enough to stress the animals. (I.e.-the house might be sucking the moisture out of the enclosures rapidly every day)

(We have tons of animals and almost all still pound rats like a shortage is coming...)

Just a thought.
There is great knowledge here and everyone is happy to help if a tweak is needed.

(Otherwise +1 for Kingsnake)

Re: Snakes that eat all year?

Mine all eat year long, including the ball python. This year is the first year I have a snake going off feed and that's only because he's being cooled down and preparing for breeding.

Yup. I have a pit and a king and I think the pit will always out eat the king. Honestly I think she would eat until she burst.
