Re: Photo shoot for Simon - BRB

Not sure, we got both him and a female, Kaylee, from a guy a few months ago. That guy was apparently their second owner and didn't know exactly how old they are. He thought the female was about 3 1/2 years old and the male 2 1/2 years. But they were also supposed to have had a litter of 18 babies in 2012 and I'm not sure she or he would have been big enough to breed then, so tend to think they must be a year or two older than we were told but I suppose it's possible.

Re: Photo shoot for Simon - BRB

That is surprisingly common with snakes...few people seem to track age well. Then again, I suppose it applies to all pets....

Me too. Great practice, and I wish it were more common.

Re: Photo shoot for Simon - BRB

That got me curious, so I went through my records and out of our current 25 snakes, I know the exact hatch/birth day of 6 of them and the exact or approx month of 5 of them but not the exact day. But the rest I'm lucky to even know what year.

Re: Photo shoot for Simon - BRB

It gets tougher with older animals or buying from resellers. Babies from breeders are the best way to be sure.
