the boa and his cage

there's a slight bulge right after the cloaca, would this be the hemipenes or something I need to beware of, though this snake has very small spurs to none noticeable

Re: the boa and his cage

what is in the glass tanks directly over the boa cage? I would think the ones over the light would be getting awfully hot :/ :/ :/

as for the bulge: males will have the paired hemipenes post cloaca, and females have the much smaller paired hemiclitoris. Im not sure if that may be what you are noticing, but someone who keeps boas should be able to help you more.

Re: the boa and his cage

thanks for the concern, the heat making it to those cages keeps that side of those cages between 84-90 surface temp, namely why I put them there so I wouldn't need to run a heating mat under them.

yah as far as the bulge, just making sure it isn't something bad, since this is from a reptile rescue.
