Veiled Chameleon Breeding

I believe my chameleon is pregnant and near its time to lie its eggs, any ways to confim this that ya'll know of

is she changed colour (black with yellow and blueish dots)? and is she digging in the substrate? if she is digging you should place her in a bucket with some potting (about half to three quaters full) soil and she will digg a tunnel ,do not disturb her untill she has emerged from that tunnel and filled it back in. Then you can remove her and put her back in her enclosure and gently digg out the eggs to place in an incubator, good luck

The bigger the better! I have a big 77L garbage pail filled about a 1/3 of the way with dirt for just such situations!

And she needs absolute privacy! It may take her a few days of test digging - make sure your soil is damp enough to hold a tunnel (I use 1/2 sand, 1/2 organic potting soil). Many girls will dig under the roots of a plant - so make sure you take it out of the pot. A bulb for heat is a good idea - she needs to be warm. Turn it off at night.

You can mist her in the bucket - even set up a small drip (punch holes in the bottom of your laying container to let the water drain).

Did I mention privacy??? I am guilty on this one - but it really is important.

Make sure you let her completely finish covering the eggs - even if she decides to pile most of the soil in the container on them - she needs to complete the process.

Then bring on the bugs (and the calcium)!!!
