He's a messy dude, haha. Although he has places to burrow, the substrate is not deep enough. Want to add some washed play sand to te mix which im doing today.

Hi, just so everyone gets a clearer picture; this monitor is in quite bad condition, very overweight and a badly deformed pelvic girdle, undoubtably due to husbandry errors in the past.
I know the OP is taking steps to improve the conditions for the animal as we speak. I wish them both all the best.

The neck is thick but I can't see the pelvis, where did that come from??

When i got sammy he was in a 55gal tank, low humidity and low heat! Ive taken and continue to take the proper steps to better care for my boy sammy. I love him dearly. You guys have been a great help!!
