Anyone knowledgeable on venting/air flow?
In a solid snake enclosure with sliding glass doors, would it be better to drill some holes near the bottom or top?

Small vent holes near the top, located as far as possible from the heat source itself will reduce humidity, and they don't need to be very big. a couple of 4-6mm holes will allow some humidity escape and not even require a screen cover.

I see. What does vent holes near the bottom do? Would it let too much cold air in? I don't know which one would be better for my russian rat which requires cooler temps than most snakes (70f-82F)

Hi, if you have (small) vents close to the bottom you`ll lose very little heat or humidity.

He is right, placing vents down low is commonly used to prevent (heat/humidity) loss while giving a little air exchange.
If you look up "air convection" or just "convection" there are charts that illustrate how heat causes air flow, and it's fascinating stuff to know.

Just cuz I'm on a roll...
with a little tuning, you can use small holes down low as intakes, and small hole on top as exhausts and achieve any desired climate.
same principals as a chimney flue.

Hot air rises out the top vents and that should draw cold air in from the lower vents.
