Way too cute.

From what I understand, they require the acid in the ants (formic acid in this case) to aid in digestion. Ran into a vendor at a show who had them. Can't remember what he said he was using as a food source for the feeder insects but it was a fruit with a high acid content as I recall.

Very cute lizards, but I can tell you from experience that they make very poor captives. It is not easy to find ants for them (harvester ants are the preferred species).

Yes I'm sure...and that's WHY they don't need any MORE "predators" (like humans & their roaming pets). Studies on various animals prove it DOES impair their health....things like deer chased by snowmobilers etc. may end up dying.

I'll believe you once you provide a legitimate source for that information.

I'm so sorry...it's been a long while since I read some studies on that, but had I realized that I'd ever be challenged by someone so utterly lacking in common sense, I'd have taken much better notes. My bad...

I'm confused. I just asked you to validate your assertions and you mock me? It's common sense to ask for proof when none is given so even your personal attacks against me hold no value.

Again, I'll believe it when I see it.

Re: I almost died from the cuteness.

Yeah I've never heard of that either possum. No need to bash anyone over it. While yes, it undoubtedly stresses animals to be chased/captured, I highly doubt it results in extreme health issues or even their death. Animals are extremely resilient, how else would wild animal rescues be able to rehab not only captured but injured animals? Shouldn't they just die of fear? There would be a lot of dead animals just laying around if that were the case.

Deer chased by snowmobilers may end up dying...maybe...if the snowmobilers ran them until complete exhaustion.

The guy I was talking to, I know, wasn't using ants, SoR. (Which had peaked my interest.) Do wish I could remember just what he was using though. I think for babies he was using either pinheads or fruitflies and then later small crickets or roach nymphs. Unfortunately, it was over a year or two ago when I spoke to him.
