the zero point is determined by placing the thermometer in brine: he used a mixture of ice, water, and ammonium chloride, a salt, at a 1:1:1 ratio. This is a frigorific mixture which stabilizes its temperature automatically: that stable temperature was defined as 0 °F (−17.78 °C). The second point, at 32 degrees, was a mixture of ice and water without the ammonium chloride at a 1:1 ratio. The third point, 96 degrees, was approximately the human body temperature, then called "blood-heat"
I knew something had to do with human blood. I think my teacher professor must have been blabbering or I was half asleep. Woops.

I prefer inches over centimetres, gallons over litres...
...but I prefer Celsius over Fahrenheit, and Kilometers over Miles.

Re: Let the regret begin.
You guys built up undeserved hype with your guesses, you may be disappointed, not that I care one bit, but just fair warning. They are beautiful, if you appreciate snakes not just neon colors and rainbows

Re: Let the regret begin.
Seems like it... I might go rattle some cages, shake a few trees and call in some favours to see if I can make some new snakes appear in the next couple of Tuesdays or so.
