Storm safety and snakes?

So, our storm season is bad this year. Had a tornado a couple miles from my house last night and getting more this evening. They'll continue probably for a few more weeks. We don't have a storm shelter but use a small interior closet for shelter... I'd like to bring the snakes with us (duh) but need some opinions on containing them. I was thinking of using pillow cases or perhaps small Tupperware containers with air holes. Or even a combo of both. Figured I'd treat it similar to a car trip. Generally, tornado warnings last a short period of time so it'd be like 30 mins-1 hour out of their enclosures. Any other suggestions?

both of those options work fine; but i would be more concerned with not 'wasting time' trying to catch the snakes to bring with you.... I don't live in tornado country so i don't know how much time you typically have when they give warnings.

Re: Storm safety and snakes?

There's usually a lot of warning honestly. At least, if you're keeping up to date with the happenings of the storms. Where I live, the storms start about 100 miles away so I have more than a fair amount of warning. I def wouldn't be as concerned about getting the animals safe too if I thought my family would be in danger by lack of time lol. I love my animals I have priorities.

Yeah, definitely something secure, comfy and dark. Everyone has always told me that pillow cases work the best. I wouldn't place the pillow case in a Tupperware though because it can bump around and make the snake uncomfortable.

Assuming that the dog and child listed in the OP's signature file will also be taking shelter in the closet, I'd put the snakes in a bag and then a plastic container with ventilation holes to protect them from being knocked into or from anything falling on them. Not sure about the OP's dog or kid, but one of my dogs gets very nervous and panicky in storms.
